Project management & gender equality e-learning courses start tomorrow!

14 May 2014 -- There are still a few places available in HREA's Project Cycle Management, Gender and Human Rights (Foundation Course), International Human Rights Law (Foundation Course) and Women, Peace and Security six-week facilitated online courses that start as soon as tomorrow, 14 May.

Project Cycle Management (14 May-24 June 2014)

Project Cycle ManagementThis e-learning course introduces the basic elements of project management. Step-by-step processes and techniques will be introduced for the various phases of a project life cycle. The course is intended for staff of non-governmental organisations who have responsibility for designing and carrying out a project but have relatively little experience.

Gender and Human Rights (Foundation Course) (14 May-24 June 2014)

Gender and Human RightsThis e-learning course provides a general introduction to the evolution of concepts of gender equality and women's rights within the international human rights system. Participants will deepen their knowledge about the evolution of human rights frameworks in response to gender inequality and women's empowerment and will be encouraged to think critically about how the human rights system engages with the reality of gender disparities.

International Human Rights Law (Foundation Course) (21 May-1 July 2014)

International Human Rights LawThis e-learning course jointly offered by HREA and the Human Rights Centre of the UN-mandated University for Peace introduces participants to the basics of international human rights law. The course is intended give participants a foundation in international human rights law and serves as a foundation course for other HREA e-learning courses, as well as a stepping stone for developing expertise in specialised areas of human rights law and practice.

Women, Peace and Security (21 May-1 July 2014)

Women, Peace and SecurityThis e-learning course provides participants with an understanding of how a gender lens is critical to all elements of peace building, conflict resolution and recovery work, initiatives and policy. It outlines the normative framework around women's rights and peace building, security sector governance, approaches to transitional justice, security policy making and awareness raising on women's and gender issues. Participants will critically analyse international interventions on peace and security from a women's rights perspective.
